Future FAR and DFARS Changes – Are You Ready

The Latest Memo From Office of the Under Secretary of Defense

The eQuip GFP Module Reporting Kit is quickly becoming a must have for defense property managers to remain compliant. Recently the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense released a memo reminding all contracting officers to include the appropriate FAR and DFARS clauses when there is government property management in a contract and to remind contractors that important changes are fast approaching.

The Under Secretary mentioned rule changes that seek to consolidate four DFARS property clauses into a single clause to clarify and streamline contractor requirements for managing and reporting government property. The proposed DFARS rule includes explicit requirements for use of the GFP Module in the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) and that this consolidation is expected to be enacted sometime in Q1 of 2024.

eQuip Remains the Standard for Property Professionals

eQuip users with the GFP Module Reporting Kit can rest easy knowing that it fully complies with revised DFARS clauses.

  • DFARS 252.211-7007(f), requires contractors to use the GFP Module to report receipt and shipment of GFP
  • DFARS 252.245-7002, requires contractors to use of the GFP Module to report property loss
  • DFARS 252.245-7004, Reporting, Reutilization, and Disposal, to require contractors to use the GFP Module to complete the Plant Clearance Inventory Schedule

How Can I Enable the GFP Module

If your organization is managing GFP and has not enacted a system like this, your organization is at risk of not being able to comply with the updated DFARS government property regulations. The eQuip GFP Module Reporting Kit can be set up in your current eQuip system in as little as 30 days thus ensuring you remain compliant with the DFARS changes that are expected to be enacted in the coming months.
